AVL IS LEADING THE WAY WITH SOFC
TECHNOLOGY IN THE POWER RANGE
OF 3 – 30 KW AND HAS ALREADY BEEN
WORKING WITH EXPERT PARTNERS
TO PROVE THEIR VIABILITY
IN PRACTICAL APPLICATIONS.
fuel cell
error and worldwide use, new ways
need to be found to guarantee the
reliability and effectiveness of this
emerging power source.
Fuel cells and batteries are galvanic
elements. In contrast to batteries,
fuel cells require additional subsystems
called Balance-of-Plant (BoP).
These manage air, fuel and coolant
supply just like their engine counterparts.
The biggest difference,
though, is that fuel cell complexity
requires a huge variety of diagnostic
tools, and AVL is one of the
most experienced providers of these
tools and the associated testing infrastructure.
With the experience
and know-how of partner company
Greenlight Innovations, AVL can
seamlessly integrate the fuel cell into
existing development structures,
processes and toolchains.
other high-demand buildings. This
green, fuel-flexible power source is
reliable, efficient and cost-effective,
and AVL is experienced in every
step of the development process.
From system simulation to layout
analysis, optimization, component
development, design and packaging,
AVL is spearheading this electrical
revolution; and that means everything
from generators that provide
just a few kilowatts right up to large
multi-megawatt power plants.
TESTING THE FUTURE
The internal combustion engine has
had more than 150 years to prove
itself. Fuel cell technology, on the
other hand, has been around for just
a fraction of that time. Without the
luxury of many decades of trial,
AVL offers customers the perfect
testing solutions to develop and
optimize their fuel cell systems.
