and a charging option by integrating plug-in technology. Another aspect, of
course, is production costs – but, here too, we have taken another important
step forward and are very much aware of where there is still potential
for improvement.
‹F.›: For whom are fuel cell cars best suited? What role do they play in
the Mercedes-Benz drive portfolio?
‹Mohrdieck›: The fuel cell drive system is particularly attractive for customers
who require a high day-to-day range and have access to hydrogen filling
stations. For vehicles in urban environments, however, an all-electric,
battery-powered drive system is currently a very good solution. The GLC
F-CELL is a major step forward for us, even though we do not yet account
for large production volumes at present. We are very much looking forward
to the feedback from our customers.
