This accessibility statement applies to www.avl.com.
At AVL, we are committed to providing a website that is accessible and usable for everyone, including people with disabilities. Accessibility is an important part of our digital responsibility, and we are continually working to improve the accessibility of our website and digital services.
Accessibility is integrated into our design, development, and quality assurance processes. We are committed to continuously improving the accessibility of our website through:
- Regular accessibility assessments using automated and manual testing methods
- Independent accessibility reviews by external experts
- Ongoing improvements based on identified issues
- Training and awareness initiatives for our design, development and content teams
- A continuous improvement roadmap that incorporates accessibility best practices
Our accessibility approach is guided by the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 Level AA.
AVL.com is partially conformant with WCAG 2.2 Level AA.
Partially conformant means that while many parts of the website meet accessibility requirements, some content and functionality do not yet fully conform to the standard. We are actively working to identify and address these issues as part of our ongoing improvement efforts.
Despite our commitment to accessibility, some areas of the website may not yet be fully accessible. Known limitations currently include:
- Navigation and Operability: Some interactive elements are not fully keyboard-operable.
- Structure and Information: Heading hierarchies are inconsistent in some sections, some links lack proper ARIA labels.
- Visual Presentation: Specific design elements and cookie banner toggles do not meet the minimum contrast requirements. Keyboard focus indicators are occasionally insufficient in contrast.
- Interactive Components: Certain interactive components may not be fully operable via keyboard. Some clickable icons fall below the recommended minimum target size. Web forms currently lack a comprehensive error summary for user correction.
- Media and Language: Some images may lack complete or sufficiently descriptive alternative text. Some videos may lack text descriptions or audio alternatives. Some PDF documents are not fully accessible. Certain content sections are missing correct language attributes, affecting screen reader pronunciation.
We are continuously working to identify and resolve these issues.
We aim to ensure that all users can successfully navigate, understand, and interact with our website:
- Navigation and interaction: The website can be predominantly navigated using a keyboard. Focus indicators are visible, and tab order follows a logical structure. A “Skip to main content” link is available.
- Screen readers and assistive technologies:
Content is largely structured with appropriate headings, ARIA attributes, and semantic markup. Most interactive elements are designed to be announced correctly by screen readers. - Visual accessibility:
Text can be resized without loss of functionality. The layout is responsive and adapts to different devices. Most images include alternative text, while decorative images are marked accordingly.
AVL.com is designed to be compatible with:
- Modern web browsers including Chrome, Edge, Firefox, Safari
- Screen readers such as NVDA, JAWS, and VoiceOver
