AVL X-ion™ NVH ANALYSIS

Expand into the acoustic dimension

Our solution for acquiring and processing acoustic noise and vibration signals

Video file

AVL’s new, high-end module for the analysis of NVH (Noise Vibration Harshness) acquires and processes signals from microphones and vibration sensors in NVH applications.
Supplemented by the new NVH acquisition module, the “multi-physics” measurement system AVL X-ion™ is now the perfect solution capable of carrying out indicating, optical (VISIO) and NVH measurements alongside e-power and torque in a single system, either in-vehicle or on a test bed.

The increasing complexity of vehicle architectures demands extensive calibration and optimization programs. This especially includes the measurement and analysis of various kinds of acoustic signals such as noise and vibration (NVH).
Over the course of product development in the automotive industry, sooner or later it is necessary to cross-correlate acoustic signals with those from the combustion engine, e-motor, inverter, and other sources.
One typical requirement is the clear identification of the root cause of noise and the correlation of unwanted vibrations or airborne noises to acoustic surfaces and to electrical excitation inside the stator of an electric motor.

X-ion NVH Visual

NVH Analysis

The X-FEM NVH is a 4-channel acquisition module suitable for use with all common acoustic sensor output types such as voltage, charge and ICP/IEPE. Each channel can be individually configured.
All raw signals are stored in a compressed file at high resolution and in time-synchronized formats. The signals and relevant KPI’s are available in real-time and can be transmitted to an automation system or optimization software for further processing.
The optional NVH TOOLBOX for AVL IndiCom™ or AVL Concerto™ includes the most common NVH analysis tools and online NVH macros, which significantly accelerates and simplifies both data acquisition and subsequent data evaluation.

X-ion NVH epower

Combined measurement tasks can be carried out quickly and efficiently with the new NVH acquisition module inside the AVL X-ion "Multi Physics" measurement system. The AVL X-ion includes the AVL IndiCom software platform thus enabling the analysis & optimization of acoustical influences and other phenomena during early stages of e-drive and powertrain development.

Reduced Development Costs

Early detection of NVH problems reduces development costs and time

Future-Proof Investment

Modularity and adaptability to different UUT's ensure a future-proof investment

Maximum Flexibility

All relevant signals can be acquired by a single measurement device resulting in maximum flexibility

Direct Connection

Direct connection of IEPE / ICP and charge sensors.

Increased Efficiency

Based on reduced number of tools in the test facility and in the office

Simple File Handling

Due to storage and availability of all measurement data in one central and compact file

X-FEM NVH

The X-ion Front-End Modules – or X-FEM – enable smart modularity and ensure AVL X-ion is a perfect match for each application.

HIGH ACCURACY

The NVH module has four inputs for microphones or accelerometers (IEPE/ICP or charge sensors) and offers a resolution of 24 bit with a sampling rate of up to 500 kS/s.

Software for NVH Analysis

The AVL NVH Toolbox with its embedded online NVH Macros enables the online acquisition and real-time KPI evaluation of acoustic and vibration signals and also provides a basic toolkit for offline NVH measurement data analysis.
