Lukas Walter returned to AVL in 2025 as Chief Operating Officer of the Engineering division and took over the leadership of the entire strategic business unit. In this role, he strengthens AVL’s innovative capabilities and competitiveness while driving the transformation toward sustainable mobility solutions.
Previously, Walter gained more than 30 years of experience in the automotive industry, particularly at MAN Truck & Bus and AVL. In his last position as Senior Vice President at MAN Truck & Bus, he was responsible for global truck sales, engineering, as well as product strategy and planning. In this role, he led key transformation processes and played a crucial role in the company’s development.
With his extensive experience in engineering, business development, and global sales, Walter brings comprehensive top management expertise, which he now applies to the strategic direction and long-term success of AVL Engineering.
