During his pursuit of an Electromechanical Systems Engineering degree at California State Polytechnical University, Ayson Mar started his career with an internship at AVL Mobility Technologies, Inc.

Based out of Lake Forest, Ayson works at the AVL California Technical Center focusing on systems, controls, and mechanical design, gaining hands-on experience in cutting-edge mobility solutions.

Following graduation, Ayson was hired full-time as a Project Engineer I – Design. In this position, he contributes to advancing e-mobility technologies, driving innovation toward a cleaner and greener world. "The transition from school to industry has deepened my appreciation for continuous learning," Ayson reflects.

"Being at the forefront of the green energy revolution is both a privilege and a responsibility. Through innovation, we're not just developing new technologies – we're shaping the future of transportation."

Continuous Skill Development

Learning never stops. "I am blessed to be able to continue pushing the boundaries of engineering and develop as an engineer here at AVL," Ayson reflects. During his internship, he has expanded his technical expertise across multiple domains. His proficiency with the PTC Creo software has been instrumental in implementing fuel cell technology across various programs. At the same time, his growing electrical knowledge also helps to implement safety system devices for these projects.

Beyond technical skills, Ayson has flourished in the collaborative environment at AVL. "The opportunity to work alongside experienced engineers has enhanced not just my technical capabilities, but also my ability to deliver results for our customers," he notes. This combination of technical growth and professional development exemplifies AVL's commitment to nurturing emerging talent in the mobility sector.

Throughout his academic and professional journey, Ayson has demonstrated leadership and commitment to engineering excellence. As the former President and Design Lead of the Formula SAE Team at Cal Poly Pomona, his “if there’s a will, there’s a way” attitude and willingness to tackle challenging projects head-on exemplify his dedication to engineering excellence. The persistent drive for innovation and problem-solving continues to shape his contributions at AVL, where he applies his diverse skill set to advance mobility solutions.
