Just a few years ago, electrification was a new territory for the automotive industry.
Today, electrification remains a technology driver and has become an integral part of the development activities of many vehicle manufacturers. The focus is on optimization, cost reduction and durability – especially in battery development.
Advancements in battery technology have a direct impact on the range, performance, and affordability of electric vehicles – important factors in the appeal of BEVs. The use of high-fidelity simulation models has become state of the art to accelerate the optimization of all these aspects. In this age of increasing complexity and speed, virtualization is necessary to keep up with the pace of innovation.
To optimize important aspects such as the battery management system for maximum performance while keeping each individual cell in a comfortable operating range, electrochemical models are essential. Only they provide deep insight into the cell during operation, where measurements are not possible. Functional models describe only the externally visible behavior, but do not provide any information about the internal states.
However, electrochemical modeling has not yet been widely adopted. This is mainly due to the challenging model parameterization.
Our experts will present solutions to this problem that break the boundaries of conventional battery design.
Join the SIMpulse online event for thought-provoking presentations and the opportunity to get answers directly from our battery experts. A diverse range of sessions will introduce you to the latest developments in the field. Gain new momentum and ideas to lead the battery innovation race.
