Lecture: "Navigating the Road to ADAS/AD Homologation - Insights into a Comprehensive Toolchain for Credible Safety Assessments"

Speaker: Heiko Scharke, Senior Global Product Manager ADAS/AD Solutions, AVL List GmbH

Establishing credibility and reliability in safety assessments is crucial for successfully homologating Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) and Automated Driving (AD). Heiko Scharke will provide additional insights into the comprehensive testing, validation, and assessment toolchain, emphasizing a holistic approach in both Virtual Testing (e.g., SiL, HiL, or ViL) as well as Real-World Testing (e.g., Proving Ground) environments. The presentation underscores the importance of closing the loop, encompassing swift scenario generation, seamless execution, and highly or fully automated, credible result evaluation. Furthermore, SOTIF (Safety of the Intended Functionality) and Risk Assessment will be addressed as integral components of the discussion.

  • Systematic test planning for different test environments
  • Seamless approaches for regulatory and development testing
  • Strategies for guaranteeing the credibility of safety assessment

Technical Presentation: "Battery Health Monitoring: Integrating Data Analytics, Modeling Techniques, and Anomaly Detection for Enhanced Electric Vehicle Performance"

Speaker: Nikolaus Keuth, PhD, Senior Group Product Manager, IODP XI Data Analytics Solutions, AVL List GmbH

In today's and future sustainable mobility, electric powertrains play a pivotal role. Among all the components of electric vehicles, the battery holds the highest value. For manufacturers and mobility providers, the competition is determined by the total cost of ownership (TCO). To balance the reduction of TCO and battery costs while ensuring optimal performance, range, efficiency, and most importantly, lifetime, the continuous monitoring of the battery during operation is inevitable.

March 15, 2024, 13:45

Technical Presentation: "Cut Development Time by Virtual Testing and AI-Based Aging Prediction"

Speaker: Gerald Sammer, PhD, Principal Business Development Manager, Integrated & Open Development Platform, AVL List GmbH

How can the time-to-market of new batteries and electrical vehicles be shortened? Virtual testing can cut development and test time in different use cases like cell aging prediction using neural networks or battery degradation modelling using machine learning. This presentation explains AVL's approach on how to optimize battery development and testing with a comprehensive methodology supported by a dedicated software solution open for any test equipment hardware.
