The forthcoming emissions regulations - Euro 7, China 7, and the standards in the United States - represent significant shifts in global efforts to combat air pollution from vehicles and significantly define requirements for batteries used to propel vehicles in battery electric and hybrid vehicles.
In this free webinar, Kurt Engeljehringer provides a comprehensive overview of the upcoming emissions regulations. Learn how these legislative challenges will impact vehicle development, certification, and RDE testing.
- Regulatory changes for light-duty and heavy-duty vehicles:
- Euro 7 legislation, even with a softened regulation, will bring severe challenges, such as brake wear, tire abrasion, on-board monitoring, battery durability and others.
- China 7 - Several new pollutant components will be measured and limited, new test procedures and fuels, like methanol, must be considered.
- USA legislation will further reduce emission limits, with a hard to measure Particulate Matter (PM) limit of 0.5mg/mi for light-duty vehicles and a 0.02 g/HP-kW NOx limit of heavy-duty vehicles.
- Testing of sustainable fuels for Internal Combustion Engines (ICE), like hydrogen (H2).
- Update on the acceptance of new analytical measurement methods in the upcoming regulations, such as Fourier Transform InfraRed (FTIR) systems in UNR regulations and ISO standards.
