Training Formats

Face-To-Face at Our Headquarters in Graz, Austria

Your big advantage having a training in Graz is that, if you wish, you will have the opportunity to speak directly with our application and development engineers.

All trainings take place at our Advanced Simulation Technology Training Center. (Waagner-Biro-Straße 108, 8020 Graz, Austria, Europe).

On-Site - Training at Your Location

Our simulation engineers at your site: Choose from our basic and advanced training programs, or we can create a customized training for you.
Please note that for on-site training our software must be pre-installed at your site. We will be happy to provide you with test licenses for the duration of the training.

Remote/Web Based Training

For this type of training we have specially equipped rooms in our training center. The training is carried out online and live via video conference.

Hybrid Training

This is a combination of F2F and remote training. A maximum of 4 participants are on site in our training center, all other participants are connected via video conference.

Cloud Training

The AVL Azure Cloud Service can be used for remote and hybrid training. Participants can use our software in the cloud for the duration of the training. Depending on the training, the necessary tool is installed with predefined CPU numbers.

Trainers have the ability to log into the cloud and can provide better support to participants. This form of training is very close to an F2F training.

Cloud trainings are available for all SDT/AWS based tools as well as for AVL VSM™.

Video Training

The recordings of basic and advanced trainings are offered to you as a video stream. They follow the official training offer, have the same content, show the same models, but are more compressed and therefore shorter.

These video trainings cannot replace the standard trainings. Rather, they serve to deepen and repeat the content and can help to pass on knowledge.

FAQ

How do I register?

To register for a course, please fill out the request form under the respective training on the Experience Cloud. You will then receive a confirmation email. 

What is included in the training fee?

The training fee includes printed training material, a USB stick containing pdfs of the training material, lunch, coffee and snacks.

Where do training courses take place?

In Austria, training courses take place at Advanced Simulation Technologies (AST), Waagner-Biro-Straße 108, 8020, Graz.

In Germany, training courses take place at AVL Deutschland GmbH, Frankfurter-Ring 213, Munich.

In USA, training courses take place at AVL Powertrain Engineering, 47519 Halyard Drive, Plymouth, Michigan.

You can also schedule a training course at your own site.

What time are the training courses at?

Courses are held from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. The timing for training at your own site is according to your scheduling needs.

How do I schedule a course at my site?

Please contact your local sales representative to discuss your requirements.

How do I cancel? How can AVL cancel?

Cancellations must be made in writing by emailing ast_training@avl.com.

For scheduled training courses, no charge will be made for cancellations made at least 1 week before commencement of the course. Our standard terms and conditions apply.

For training on request, cancellations will be dealt with on a case by case basis. AVL reserves the right to cancel a training course (with 1-week notice) due to an insufficient number of participants and this will then be rescheduled. Also, if the course cannot take place due to illness or unforeseen events, AVL retains the right to cancel and reschedule.

What about accommodation?

If you require a hotel reservation in Graz or Munich, please enter your request in the inquiry form. An email will be sent to confirm the reservation.

If you require a hotel reservation in Michigan, please complete the section in the registration form. An email will be sent to confirm the reservation.

Costs for accommodation and expenses for the participant are to be covered by the customer. Payment must be made directly to the hotel.

If the course takes place at your site, the travel and accommodation costs for the AVL trainer will be invoiced separately.

How do I provide feedback on training?

A training feedback form will be provided at the training course.
